Jen’s Room is a very special place at Tufts Medical Center, and our first project there. After several years of research and development, brainstorming, fundraising, project management and construction, The Jen Di Reeno Foundation held a dedication ceremony in August of 2005, and then celebrated the opening of Jen’s Room with over 200 guests a month later in September.
While the hospital offers many private respite places or special resources for children and adults, Jen’s Room offers a unique place for teens and young adults to communicate openly with their peers. The room serves as a comfortable, safe environment to gather and share experiences with one another - or a funky place to just hang out and have fun. Jen’s Room also serves as an informational resource room and hosts support groups, featuring a lounge-like atmosphere with soft purple leather couches, bright lighting, top-of-the-line computers, a printer, and an entertainment center complete with a flat screen television.
Everybody who visits Jen’s Room feels that it is a place filled will love, support, and healing - with Jen’s spirit and energy in mind. The Foundation is ever grateful to all donors and friends who have helped make Jen’s Room a reality. Please contact tara@jendireeno.org if you’d like to set up a visit to Jen’s Room. We would love for you to experience this space.
